Apply perfume correctly

Where should you spray perfume to make it smell longer?

Your perfume isn't just any scent—it gives you the opportunity to further emphasize your personality. So choose a scent that reflects your character and make sure your skin is clean so the scent lasts longer. We'll tell you how and where to apply your perfume, and what else you should consider.

Apply perfume correctly

Apply perfume to clothing or skin

Clothing vs. Skin – Where should I apply perfume?
The eternal question: Should you apply perfume to your skin or to your clothes?
The answer depends entirely on your individual preferences. Both have advantages and disadvantages. When applied to the skin, body heat creates a unique scent.
The traditional method is definitely to apply perfume directly to the skin. The perfume develops best on warm areas of the skin. The natural oils on the skin create a unique, individual scent.
Perfume stays on clothing longer than on skin. If you want your scent to last all day, spraying your clothes may be a good option. However, you should apply your perfume to an inconspicuous area first, as some perfumes can stain.
Also note that spraying your clothes can also affect the fragrance experience.

How can you apply perfume discreetly?

Applying perfume discreetly is an art in itself. The scent should emphasize your personality, but not dominate. To achieve this, you should first choose a suitable fragrance. Lighter scents include aquatic, floral, or citrus notes.
Additionally, you should make sure to spray sparingly. One or two spritzes are usually enough to subtly smell the perfume.

Why spray perfume on your pulse?

A well-known method of applying perfume is to spray the scent onto the pulse. But why? Firstly, the pulse areas are warmer than other parts of the body. Spraying these areas results in the fragrance being released more quickly and smelling more intense. The skin is thinner at the pulse points, and the blood vessels are close to the surface. The constant movement ensures that the fragrance is released continuously. This also ensures that the fragrance lasts longer on the skin.
The ideal pulse points are the sides of your neck, the insides of your elbows, behind your ears, and, more traditionally, your wrists. The sides of your neck, in particular, are a good place to diffuse the scent near your head.

5 tips to make your perfume last longer

To ensure your perfume lasts as long as possible, we have put together a few tips for you:

1. The right basis

A fragrance-free moisturizer is best as a base. When your skin is well hydrated, it can retain your fragrance better.

2. Choose products with the same or similar fragrance:

A body lotion , aftershave or shower gel with the same scent can extend the shelf life of your perfume.

3. Proper storage:

Light and heat can cause the chemical composition of the perfume to change. This can also affect the shelf life of your fragrance. Therefore, always store your perfume in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

4. Apply perfume correctly

If you apply your perfume to your pulse points, the scent will spread better due to your body heat and last longer.

5. Spray perfume on clothes

The scent lasts particularly long on clothing. It's best to test it first to make sure your perfume doesn't leave any stains.
