CBD cosmetics: Sensitive care for sensitive and demanding skin

CBD Cosmetics: Sensitive Care for Sensitive and Demanding Skin

Skin can be quite demanding. Especially with sensitive and blemish-prone skin, facial and body care becomes really complicated. No wonder then that CBD in cosmetic products is currently causing quite a hype. The natural ingredient leads to many positive testimonials and has huge potential. And don't worry, you won't get high from a CBD cream, because cannabidiol and not THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is used for cosmetics. The latter causes the psychoactive effect and does not appear in care products.
Do you want to know why CBD is so popular and why you should consider using CBD cosmetics? We'll explain everything about the hype, actual benefits, effects, and what cannabidiol actually is.

What is CBD (Cannabidiol)?

Cannabidiol is a natural remedy from the hemp plant. It can boost your well-being, help your body recover, and give your demanding skin exactly what it needs. Do you want to know exactly how CBD works in your body, which receptors are affected, and where all the great benefits come from? Then take a look at the FAQs, where you'll find a little biology refresher.

Benefits & Effects of CBD on Skin and Hair

How does cannabidiol affect our skin and hair if the receptors are internal? Don't underestimate CBD. The substance dissolves in oils and can thus enter your metabolism even when used externally. For skin conditions, external application through creams and ointments is sometimes supplemented by internal use. Even though, as often in life, there's no guarantee, studies and individual experiences show great effects. From anti-inflammatory, soothing, pain-relieving to even anxiety-reducing results, CBD cosmetics work in a very special way for many. Despite these great results, you should definitely consult your dermatologist beforehand if you have skin conditions.

CBD Cosmetics as a Balm for the Skin

CBD also soothes your skin cells and helps against redness or dull complexion. CBD cosmetics are even said to visibly reduce acne and regulate excessive sebum production. Skin aging is also said to be reduced by the antioxidant properties of CBD. This is because antioxidants help stop the aging process by reducing free radicals. These lead to faster collagen breakdown. Therefore, antioxidants ultimately also help slow down the process of collagen loss and make the skin more youthful, firmer, and stronger.
As you probably already notice, CBD cosmetics help your skin regain its balance and compensate for stress and hormonal reactions. They also support the restoration of natural moisture balance. Especially for sensitive skin - but also all other skin types - CBD is perfect due to these soothing properties. A CBD face cream or CBD Body Wash are great products to get to know the CBD active ingredient.

CBD for Stronger & Shinier Hair

You should also give CBD a chance for your hair. The omega-3 and -6 fatty acids in the hemp plant make brittle and dry hair softer and shinier. And if you paid attention to the itchy beard article, you know that omega-3 fatty acids in particular prevent and relieve this. This also makes it a perfect active ingredient in your beard oil. In addition, CBD forms a kind of protective layer, so environmental pollution won't harm your beard hairs and the skin underneath as quickly. You can either mix your beard shampoo with hemp oil, or you can directly get a CBD face and beard wash gel.

What CBD care products are available?

As already mentioned, CBD cosmetics are suitable for all skin types, but are particularly recommended for sensitive skin. In addition to CBD oil for oral intake and medicinal products for treatment, more and more care products with CBD are being developed.

Sensitive skin was yesterday

Let's briefly go through a classic skincare routine for your face. If you've already read the Academy article: Men's Facial Skincare Routine, then you know why the following steps are important and what you should pay attention to. First, you should wash your face - morning and evening. A CBD face and beard wash gel, for example, is suitable for this - even if you don't have a beard. Especially for sensitive and demanding skin, the CBD and hemp water in this wash gel have a soothing effect on your skin. Additionally, spirulina is antioxidant, can prevent skin aging, and the re-fattening formula makes beard hair and your facial skin supple. Hearing about spirulina for the first time? It's a blue-green algae with cell-protective properties. A great addition to CBD.

Your still slightly damp face is already looking forward to a face cream. Natural ingredients like aloe vera, cucumber extract, and green tea are always welcome in creams, as they not only provide moisture but also have antibacterial and regenerative effects. Especially for sensitive skin, cannabidiol wonderfully complements the active ingredients just mentioned.

Do you have a beard? Then you'll surely be happy with a CBD beard oil. Especially if you occasionally (or always) struggle with itching, you'll be more than happy with this new active ingredient. Organic thistle oil, with its light texture, is the ideal complement to the valuable oils from the hemp plant, as thistle oil has anti-inflammatory properties and is thus perfect for stressed skin under the beard. The gamma-linolenic acid (a triple unsaturated omega-6 fatty acid) contained in hemp oil stimulates the beard hair follicles, thereby promoting beard growth and protecting the beard from drying out – what more could you want?

But it's not just your face and beard that appreciate intensive care, but your body too. Our CBD Body Wash perfectly completes your CBD care routine. The hemp water and cannabidiol it contains have a calming effect, moisturize, and thanks to sea salt, are also anti-inflammatory and deeply cleanse pores.
With CBD products in your care routine, you start or end your day relaxed and balanced. Balm for body and mind. One more small plus: you can, by the way, prevent skin aging.

NATRUE-Certified Natural Cosmetics with CBD for Men

With natural cosmetics, you're not just doing yourself good, but also the environment. When buying your CBD products, look for certified organic and natural cosmetics. Especially with such a great active ingredient as CBD, you'd only want high-quality, natural ingredients in your cosmetics anyway. How do you recognize good natural cosmetics? The easiest way is to look at the seal. There are many of them now, the best known being the NaTrue and BDIH seals. These seals guarantee that the guidelines have been adhered to.
NaTrue, for example, only permits certain ingredients and no synthetic perfumes, silicones, or microparticles. Surfactants must be biodegradable. Everything from packaging, production, to ingredients is checked and re-inspected after two years. If you want to know more about the importance of natural cosmetics, please click here.

FAQ

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

Cannabidiol and THC are important components of cannabis. As mentioned, THC is responsible for the well-known psychoactive effects of hemp products and is prohibited by the Narcotics Act. CBD is extracted from the flowers of the plant and, due to its low receptor activity with certain cannabinoid receptors, does not have the same effect as THC.

What is CBD good for? The effects of CBD in the body explained.

We have a complex nervous system. Part of this system is the endocannabinoid system. The cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 and endogenous cannabinoids are the most important components. Endogenous cannabinoids or endocannabinoids, as well as external cannabinoids, bind to the corresponding receptors and activate them. CB1 receptors are mainly located in the central nervous system, for example, in the brain or spine. They regulate, for example, concentration, coordination, sleep, memory, appetite, and mood. CB2 receptors are mainly in the peripheral nervous system and the immune system; they are located, for example, in the tonsils, white blood cells, and lymph nodes. These regulate, among other things, the immune system and digestion. Depending on the type and concentration of these cannabinoids, they act on the receptors – both endogenous and externally supplied. That should be enough biology homework for now.

As you can see, these receptors regulate quite important functions; no wonder then that CBD is becoming increasingly popular! The active ingredient is currently taking the dietary supplement and cosmetics sectors by storm. But if I have my own cannabinoids, why do I need external ones? First, we want to clarify that external cannabinoids cannot replace endogenous ones. Rather, they help restore the balance in the endocannabinoid system and support your body and mind should your work-life balance drift into stress again. We cannot, of course, speak generally for you and everyone here, but we ourselves repeatedly experience that we once again have no time for quality time with loved ones or for ourselves, go to bed stressed, then sleep poorly, and drag ourselves out of bed totally tired in the morning. If you have recognized your daily life in part or whole here, then we can assure you that your nervous system is anything but balanced. CBD helps us to regain balance in the long run. It does not dock to the receptors but acts as an inhibitor for the enzymes that stop your body's own cannabinoids.

Is CBD legal in Germany?

Yes. As long as the industrial hemp from which the processed CBD product (i.e., as oil or cream) is made is EU-certified and the THC content is below 0.2 percent, CBD is legal in Germany. Generally, CBD products must be processed, such as CBD oils and creams. Unprocessed products like CBD flowers are not permitted, for example.

What is the difference between CBD oil and CBD cosmetics?

CBD oil is an ingredient in CBD cosmetics. In addition, cannabidiol is also available in liquid form for oral intake, in capsules, or even as gummy bears.

Can CBD cause side effects?

Depending on the intake, CBD can naturally have side effects, especially with excessive consumption. If CBD is smoked or vaped, for example, short-term side effects from smoking/inhalation can occur or increase. Taking CBD orally or applying it externally significantly minimizes the likelihood of side effects.

So: please don't start drinking liters of CBD oil just because CBD, for example, positively influences your mood or helps your memory – because too much can also have negative consequences. Therefore, always stick to the guidelines so that you can perfectly utilize all the benefits of CBD! Most of the time, you won't feel them immediately, but only after some time.

Is CBD good for the skin?

Oh yes! Cannabidiol is amazing for your skin, your hair, and generally for you.
